EU-UK trade agreement: A practical guide for SMEs

SBS-SMEunited workshop

4 May 2021
14.00 - 15.45H CEST

Following the exit of the UK from the EU and the new EU-UK trade deal, European companies wishing to do business in the UK will need to adapt to a new set of rules. From 1 January 2021 European firms will need to adapt to changes such as new marking requirements or approvals if they want to continue selling their products in the UK. The webinar aims at giving practical information to European SMEs about the EU-UK trade agreement and what they need to know if they want to do business in the UK.

What does the trade agreement cover and what it does not? Do I need to use a UK laboratory to test my product? Can I continue to use European Standards to sell products in the UK? Where can I find information on UK applicable standards? Where can I find further information and support?

If you are interested in finding out more about these issue, you may view the following workshop material:

- Ignacio IRUARRIZAGA, Head of Unit, Europe and Eastern Neighbourhood, DG TRADE, European Commission
