We take your privacy seriously and treat all the personal data you give us with great care. We will not sell or swap your details with any other organisation, ever, and we will keep your details private and secure. This Privacy Policy explains how we store and use the personal data you give to us. We will inform you of any update to our Privacy Policy that will affect you.
What personal data do we process?
We process the minimum required personal data that you give to us when you apply as an expert or member, ask for information, subscribe to our newsletter, register to our events or give us your business card. When you visit our website we also automatically receive your IP address which is a unique identifier for your computer or other device you are using to access our site.
How do we use your data?
Personal data collected and processed by us may be used for the following purposes:
• Responding to requests for support;
• Research and statistical analysis;
• Communication about activities, events and any other projects that we think may be of interest to you;
• Distribution of our newsletter
• Expert and member activities.
SBS will not sell, trade, or rent your personal information collected online to third parties. For auditing purposes, we may show attendee lists obtained at events to donors for the sole purpose of verifying that funded events took place.

The SBS Secretariat, participants of SBS’ events you are attending, as well as service providers such as graphic designers, website developers and Mailchimp.

If your personal details change, please help us keep your information up to date by notifying us. You can also request access to any information we hold about you at any time by writing to the Secretariat.
In case your contact with SBS does not sufficiently address your request, you may further contact the relevant Data Protection Authority. As SBS is a legal entity based in Belgium, they operate under the remit of the Belgian Data Privacy Commission.
Do you have to provide your personal data?
Providing your personal data to us is optional, however, in some circumstances if you do not provide it, we will probably not be able to keep you up to date with news or events, subscription materials or e-newsletters, or our website may not work properly for you.

We may change or update this policy from time to time so please check this page periodically. We will inform you of any update to our Privacy Policy that will affect you.
